Fashion is Work Symposium

Friday 14 October

10.30am–4.30pm

Manchester Art Gallery
Mosley Street, Manchester M2 3JL

Fashion & Freedom

Taking as its starting point Fashion & Freedom, the exhibition of new fashion and film inspired by women during the First World War, Manchester Art Gallery and 14-18 NOW present a day-long symposium for students, professionals and those with an interest in contemporary fashion.

Featuring a keynote presentation from Caroline Rush, Chief Executive of the British Fashion Council; panel discussions with designer Sadie Williams, photographer Jez Tozer, stylist Kim Howells and special guests – all offering unique insights into working in the fast-paced and exciting world of fashion.

Fashion is Work is part of a season of fashion events, which have been made possible thanks to a unique partnership between Manchester Art Gallery, Selfridges, British Vogue, the National Portrait Gallery and 14-18 NOW, the UK’s arts programme for the First World War Centenary.
