CIMODE (CONGRESSO INTERNAZIONALE SULLA MODA E SUL DESIGN) è una piattaforma per la ricerca sulla Moda e sul Design, nata per promuovere lo scambio di idee tra ricercatori, accademici, designer e altri professionisti del settore. Attraverso un dialogo interdisciplinare ed un approccio interculturale, l’evento ha l’obiettivo di generare e presentare nuovi scenari sul presente e sul futuro della Moda e del Design.

CIMODE è un evento il cui impegno principale è quello di contribuire allo sviluppo e alla diffusione di studi scientifici inerenti la Moda e il Design, che si tiene ogni due anni in diversi paesi europei e americani di espressione latina. CIMODE è dedicato alla ricerca e all’insegnamento della progettazione della Moda e intende essere un importante forum per la discussione di questioni rilevanti per la progressione delle conoscenze in questo settore. Congresso inter e trans-disciplinare, CIMODE esplora la Moda ed il Design da un punto di vista sociale, culturale, psicologico e comunicativo, per mettere insieme approcci e punti di vista diversi circa la pratica, l’insegnamento e la cultura del progetto della Moda.

CIMODE (INTERNATIONAL FASHION AND DESIGN CONGRESS) is a Fashion and Design research platform, promoting exchange of ideas between researchers, academics, designers and other professionals in the fields of Fashion and Design. Through an interdisciplinary dialogue and intercultural perspective, the event aims to generate and present new scenarios on the present and future of Fashion and Design.

CIMODE main commitment is to contribute to the development and diffusion of scientific studies in Fashion and Design. The event, planned to be held every two years in different Latin-speaking countries (European and American countries of Latin expression), is dedicated to the discussion of the research and the teaching of Fashion and Design studies and intends to be an important forum for discussion of issues relevant to the progression of knowledge in these areas. Being an inter and trans-disciplinary Congress, CIMODE seeks to explore Fashion and Design from a social, cultural, psychological and communicational perspective, trying to bring together different approaches and points of view about the practice, teaching and the culture of Design and Fashion.

Call for Papers

CIMODE 2014 seeks a diverse and comprehensive program covering all areas of Fashion Design. The program includes research activities designed to facilitate the exchange of expertise, experience and resources. These include keynote and invited talks, paper presentations, panels and round table discussion sessions.

We would like to invite you to share your experience and your papers with academicians, teachers and professionals.

We invite the submission of papers about original and previously unpublished researches. Papers submitted should fall into one of seven thematic tracks proposed.

All approved papers will be published in electronic proceedings (eBook) with ISBN. The proceedings of the conference will be distributed to participants during the event.

CIMODE 2014 will be an opportunity for a productive debate about the contemporary state-of-the-art of Fashion Design, and its future scenarios and emerging topics.

The conference will give ample evidence to all aspects and boundaries of the fashion project. Thematic tracks will range from communication to identity, from materials to products, from emerging trends to teaching, from sustainability to consumption.

Submission Categories (session types will be defined in the submission process)

Full Papers or short papers (for posters) may be submitted.

Full papers should be between 6 and 10 pages (about 2500-4000 words, including figures, tables and references) and should be formatted according to the congress template (Author Guidelines). These works will be orally presented at the conference. They can be presented as oral communication (15 minutes) or presented as oral posters (5 minutes), in accordance with the classification obtained by the paper in the review process.

Short Papers should be 2-4 pages and (1500 words) and can only be presented in Poster format

Each article can only have a maximum of 5 co-authors

Conference Language

Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and English will be the official languages of the conference.

The first paper submission could be done in English, Italian, Spanish or Portuguese.

After review process, the second and final paper submission must be in English.
